When is Westfest, and where is it held?

Westfest takes place Friday, June 2nd to Sunday, June 4th 2017, in Mechanicsville (north of Hintonburg). ‍‍‍Laroche Park is located at 52 Bayview Road.

What is the cost? Where do I get tickets?

Westfest is FREE! Everyone is invited and everyone is welcome! At Westfest, everyone is equal!

When is the Main Stage Area Open?

The Main Stage programming runs from Friday, June 2nd, 4 pm to 11 pm, Saturday June 3rd, 11 am to 11 pm and Sunday June 4th, 11 am to 11 pm.

Is there alcohol at the Main Stage?

Yes, the Main Stage site will feature a fully licensed area; please be prepared to bring and show your ID, this is the law. The Clocktower Brew Pub, our Platinum Sponsor, is the official beer provider at the Westfest Main Stage. You can also purchase red and/or white wine. No outside alcohol is permitted on the festival grounds, as per the rules and regulations of the Liquor Board of Ontario. Security and Paid Duty Police will be present and enforcing all rules.

What else happens at Westfest?

The Napkyn Family Fun Zone will feature Art education and programming all day for the little ones, from 10am to 5pm, on Saturday and Sunday. There is also a large licensed area, an Indigenous Pavilion with food and art, the Westfest Market, the Westfest food court featuring a variety of local food trucks, charities, buskers, performance artists, and all kinds of other activities and entertainment. Everyone is welcome and all activities are free! See you at Westfest!

How do I get to Westfest?

Taking the OC Transpo is a great way to get to Westfest! The Bayview Transitway and O-Train stop is a three-minute walk to Laroche Park. Riding your bicycle is also an excellent way to get to the festival, the Ottawa River walk & bike path is adjacent to the festival grounds, less than 500 meters. The Westfest Bike Park is safe and secure and FREE (donations are welcome). This year Causeway will be offering free bike tune-ups!

Is there parking at Westfest?

You may park all the way up Bayview Avenue to the festival site, both sides of the street offer free parking. As well, parking is available along several residential streets in the area, and along Parkdale Avenue (only three blocks from Laroche Park).

Is Food Available?

Yes, there will be several food trucks and vendors in the Westfest Food Court, as well as the Main Stage licensed area, selling all kinds of delicious food and tasty treats.

Are there public washrooms available?

Yes, several portable washrooms, including accessible washrooms, at the Westfest site in Laroche Park.

Is there anything for kids to do at Westfest?

Yes, numerous activities are programmed for children, all day Saturday and Sunday, in the Napkyn Family Fun Zone. The Napkyn Family Fun Zone can entertain everyone from small tots to teenagers. Programming includes bouncy houses, clowns, balloon animals, interactive games, obstacle courses, puppets shows, musical shows and more.

Are there bank machines at Westfest?

Yes, there will be two ATM’s on-site, one close to the Main Stage bar area and one in our Westfest Market.

What if it rains during Westfest?

Bring an umbrella! The show will go on, rain or shine, so come and join the party! The Main Stage show will only shut down in the event of a lightning storm or strong winds.

Is Laroche Park and Westfest accessible to wheelchairs?

Yes, thanks to Dovercourt Recreation Association—Westfest’s Accesibility Sponosr, we will have special paths made from thick rubber mats that will allow wheelchairs to enter the festival site, get to accessible washrooms and will lead to an accessible "priority seating" area under a canopy which will protect from the sun. We hope everyone comes to Westfest and can enjoy and get around our festival freely. We will do our very best to help anyone who needs it, just ask anyone with a radio for assistance, they are onsite to assist you!

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, dogs are permitted throughout most of the Westfest site. However, due to the large crowds, dogs are not permitted in the licensed area. As per the City of Ottawa by-laws, your dog must be on a leash and you must pick up after it. Please remember to bring water for your dog.
